For love of the craft.
In the year of 1974 Wilhelm Mewes starts the manufacturing of handtufted carpets in a small workshop in Dülmen, a Westphalian city in the farthest west of Germany. The young enterprise is carried by success rather soon. Architects and well-known furnishers become purchasers.

A growing number of clients demand for furnishes in wich the carpet also matches the architectural concept in size, material and color. Latest technology and highest demands on quality of the material and particularity on craftsmanship do create the base of production.
The enterprise grew with the esteem of well-known purchasers. The company retropects works for representative houses and interior furnishings within Germany and abroad. The company's way is paved by special works for banks, sacral buildings, federal orders like the former plenar hall of the Bundestag in Bonn, luxury yachts and exclusive works for private clients on highest standard.
In 1987 the founder's son Thomas Mewes participates the leadership of the enterprise.
In 2003 the founder's son Thomas Mewes takes over the leadership of the enterprise.
